It is important to make sure that you work out your finger muscles in order to maintain full flexibility for any tut manuevers. In one of my previous blogs i posted a video of Greg Irwin, who is known to be the first known person to practice these finger fitness workouts.
It is very important to practice with other dancers of any kind, as you will be able to see different concepts that
you will be able to take with you and practice incorporating these moves into your own.
Its very important to keep an indiviidualistic style. Remember you can only make your move look like you want it to look. Never strive to have some one elses style be unique with your tuts.
I tut, so what?

BOX?!
One very important thing to keep in mind while tutting is that their are variation of different shapes and styles of boxes. The wikipedia definition describes the boxes as a certain sub-styles of tutting that has emerged where the dancer creates boxes, which consists of creating and manipulating box-like or rectangular shapes predominantly with ones arms or fingers.
Tutting is Movements that require your hands and arms, sometimes your body depending on what the move is. Tutting is simple, like a puzzle piece, where your hands, fingers and arms are used to slide, move, or bump into each other.
There are many other transitional moves which are very important to remember while tutting. Some of the more difficult concepts to grasp are; remotes, hinges, slides, and of coarse boxes. Many of the people I know who follow tutting have a lot of respect to particular a dancer known as TY fingers, from, he has many different variations of these different concepts that he puts all into one performance.

What is he doing...?!
Many people find it hard to understand this new different style of dancing. I personally have gotten awkward looks when I find myself practicing in public areas. Especially when my fingers looked "sloppy" back when I was a beginner at tutting, striving to make my moves as "clean" as possible.
While we are practicing My friends and I always have a strong passion to do show each other different variations of moves that we learn. It is important as an individual to take in all of the different concepts that I learn from my friends and incorporating their move with my own.
When you first begin tutting it might feel embarrassing to practice your moves in-front of other people because you feel like they might judge everything you have been practicing. I think that it is crucial to practice in public, when it is appropriate, because it prepares you to have the confidence when it comes down to performing what you've spent so much time practicing.
It is important to build up a confidence in your dancing, if you do so then it will show through your tuts. By far one of the most inspiring pop dancers that I have ever come across is known as "Poppin John," he is constantly practicing in public areas.

Breaking Down the Basics
Normally I never find my self looking up any other tutting on the web other then through youtube videos. When doing some research I came across a very inspiring online organization known as the Popping Dance Academy. The Academy has a 10 very important codes that they always have on their minds.

Where Did Digits Began?
Finger tutting, or digits, all began when dancers started combing a number of different types of dance styles and incorporating them into these finger dances. The two most obvious dance styles that digits originated from was liquid, which is a dance that looks literally looks like the dancers bones become liquid pulsing throughout their body. The second major dance style that digits arrived from is the pop-n-lock, where is a very well known dance style the requires the dancer to stop their dance while adding a pop making them look almost robotic.
Tiny Love took these concepts as well as many others and morphed them from entire body movements down to movements done with only your fingers, while still keeping the dancing feel. Tiny Love has become a major idol to many up and coming finger dancing fanatics. In this following video he explains in depth more where this whole digit craze started. If you pick up on how he describes the different ways that he comes up with the concepts Tiny explains how many dancers feed off other, usually more talented dancers, styles and incorporate other moves into their own finger tuts.

History of tutting
Tutting is a contemporary abstract interpretive street dance style modeled after Egyptian hieroglyphics. This dance was said to mimic the way the Egyptians would walk and move.
Tutting is highly regarded in both the electronic and popping communities for its technical depth and distinctiveness to the extent that a sufficiently dedicated member from either may use it as their dominant style and is occasionally referred to as a tutter. As such, tutters will incorporate popping or liquiding in their performance

What is a finger tut?!
Tutting has a variety of other names such as: Finger fitness, finger dance, finger tut, or digits
The term Tutting is derived from the name of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun. Tutting is performed with attention to the musics' rhythm by altering the position of the body and limbs in a synchronized, robotic manner.
Tutting is essentially a form of popping, with lots of hand flows, box shapes, and dynamic transformations. It's an extremely fun dance to do, though it does take a lot of practice.
Many of these people who post their videos onto youtube know this famous dancer as "JayFunk" Which is the name he goes by on his youtube videos. He has recently been apart of a recent Samsung galaxy cell phone commercial simply because of his ability to finger tut.
